This page is just general help for everyone who has purchased Windows 7 and see error message 0×80070570. It took us over 1 week to get around the error. So let’s explain.
You insert the disc and choose either upgrade or install, you choose the location for the install and the process begins. Expanding Windows files reaches 12% and bang, the error screen appears with windows 7 disk error 0×80070570.
A quick search on the internet leads to hundreds of pages and help files, all of which offer different advice.
So, the solution which worked for us is “Removing 1 of the 2 slots of RAM”. We are using a Sony Vaio 4GB laptop, removing 1 of the slots of ram and re-installing windows 7 worked first time no problem.
We tried all of the following with no success
Installing windows 7 from Install disk from Operating system Vista and a clean install failed
Installing windows 7 from clean install with a formatted disc drive failed
Installing windows 7 from a USB harddrive or flash card failed
Removing 1 of the 2 slots of ram – installing from disc – resolved.
Therefore, if you are trying to install Windows 7 and are seeing this error and are confused by the conflicting messages on the internet then try removing 1 slot of RAM. It worked for us.
Make sure, you read carefully how to remove RAM from your computer.
